The following quote is a short story about a girl named Samal. She was a child who had a very bad habit of breaking things. Her mother would always scold her and tell her that it was not nice to break things. One day, she asked her mother if it was alright to break things if she really needed them at the time.
Her mother replied that she could break whatever she needed as long as she left them alone. There was an incident where she broke a glass and her mother scolded her and told her to be more careful with other things. Later on, she broke something important and got scolded again for it.
The next day, there was a very loud noise and Samal came down to see what the sound was like and found that it was an earthquake. After the earthquake, there were no signs of life in the city except for those who were trapped under the rubble. As she saw those people struggling to survive, she picked up a small piece of wood and began hitting it against the ground as hard as she could hoping that those people would hear her and come to safety.
